SEPTEMBER 11, 2026

Dear Friends

As I write this, the year is not quite over, and the gates are not quite open. There is sadness in what remains unfinished. Hope in what may still be possible. And prayer in the in-between. We stand at the threshold, still believing that life is beautiful.

I extend my deepest gratitude to our contributors for sharing a piece of their stories—and to you, our readers, for making sure those stories were heard.

To Margrit, Peyton, Kelli, Sofi, Harvey, and the team at Anne Frank LA: thank you for making sure everything looked beautiful and ran smoothly.

And to our sponsors, whose generosity makes it possible each year for tens of thousands of people around the world to find a little inspiration: thank you.

Shana Tova—to a sweeter, kinder, loving and less judgmental new year.

  1. From Deerfield Beach Florida I arrived in Van Nuys to visit my sister, nephews, and niece. I attended Neila service and found this jewel next to me. My wife and I have read and enjoyed this immensely. I feel the need to give back.
