I was raised in a toxic environment. I spent 20 years of my adult life addicted to drugs and alcohol. I lived on the streets as a thief and with a cardboard sign to support my heroin habit. All of it led to a lot of pain and suffering for myself and others.
My life has been filled with a lot of highs, and an equal number of lows, and all of it has prepared me to be what I am now.
I have spent the last four years clean and sober, deeply rooted in a challenging personal spiritual journey that has helped me realize that right NOW, this moment, is the most real moment of all.
For me, “What if?” is an illusionary question. It does not exist as it is in the past – or in the future. To be true to myself, I must live in this moment. Not to say that I haven’t thought about the past/future, but to truly live is to be present in this moment.
I have come to the realization that this life is about spiritual evolution. From the day I was born to the day I die, everything is here to help me evolve as a spiritual being. All of the pain, suffering, and life’s conditioning was meant to happen, in order that one day I could go through a healing process. As I heal, I create space for all to heal.
My question is not “what if”, but “what can I do in this moment?”
