Elul 16 ~ Stephen Sideroff ~ Bold and Courageous

Time is the great equalizer—no one has more or less, and it can’t be bought. What sets us apart is how we spend our time.

As the Jewish Holy Days approach, I imagine the gates of heaven opening. In the presence of the ineffable, I feel compelled to be my best and use this time wisely. I believe in a partnership with God, or a Conscious Universe, where the energy I project is magnified. Therefore, I must project energy rooted in love, compassion, and the greater good.

Instead of asking, “If not now, when?” I remind myself, “Now is the time.” With the heavens open, it’s a unique opportunity to focus on actions that matter most and have the greatest impact, especially those I’ve delayed too long.

We are all bound by what I call Primitive Gestalt Patterns (PGP), survival lessons from childhood that create boundaries between what we believe is safe and possible, and what is not. Approaching these boundaries often brings discomfort or fear, preventing us from moving beyond them. This pull makes change difficult, even when we strive to grow.

The response to “if not now, when?” is to use this sacred time to identify actions that will help you break free from outdated restrictions, to call on your best self-the part eager to transcend limitations.

Let your partnership with God, or the Conscious Universe, empower you to be bold and courageous. Mobilize your emotions, vision, and dreams. With the gates of heaven open, set your intentions to enter new territory.

For Every Jewel There is a Question:
Do you believe in heaven? If so, how does that shape your choices?
